Step 1 - Feasibility Questionnaire
The first step is this questionnaire:-

Questionnaire
You will
probably find it useful to estimate the potential business
benefits before starting to look at any software. For our part, the more we can understand
the benefits to you, the more we are able to guide you.
Step 2 - Proposal
If we both agree that job costing, and Amber-JCS in particular, is likely to
be beneficial to your firm,
we would like the opportunity to prepare a brief Proposal summarising costs and
benefits, and outlining the areas in which Amber-JCS can help.
Step 3 - Initial Demo
Either we can arrange a Dial-in Demo (ideally on a PC in your
board-room and with a telephone speaker), or you can simply download
the Trial Copy of Amber-JCS.
We prefer to do a dial-in demo, as we can do some preparation before-hand to
make it more relevant to your requirements, but this is just as you wish.
Step 4 - System Evaluation
For a trial period of one to four weeks, you do a parallel run with two or
more jobs, from creating the client and job, recording time and costs, and
generating sales invoices.
You can then review the management reports with meaningful data, which will
hopefully help you to quantify the potential benefits of instant management
information more accurately.

Step 5 - Decision
You should then be in a good position to make the correct decision.
Is job costing software, such as Amber-JCS, appropriate for your firm?
Do the potential benefits outweigh the costs?
We think these steps will help you to make the right decision, but they are
only a suggestion.
